GeoExchange Energy

GeoExchange systems require a significant investment. Plus, they have ongoing electricity costs. Monitoring these units shows their benefits and performance, including:

  • Thermal energy production
  • Electricity use and costs
  • Flow, flow rate
  • Supply, return temperatures
  • Equivalent energy and carbon savings

A BTU meter measures thermal heating or cooling for a GeoExchange system. The PowerWise gateway reads data from the BTU meter and reports on live conditions and historical reports in the inView app. The chart below shows hourly thermal production in kWh. The app can also chart daily and monthly energy totals. Ideally, the BTU meter is installed with when the GeoExchange is installed.

GeoExchange Summary

The BTU meter and inView app also chart and report on flow rate, supply and return temperatures, and hydronic power. Easily export this data to CSV for further analysis.

GeoExchange Savings

Using kWh production for GeoExchange, the inView app can calculate saved pounds of CO2, trees planted, and electricity cost savings.

What is GeoExchange?

GeoExchange transfers heat from the earth to a building through a series of pipes. This loop passes through a heat exchanger or heat pump to condition the building.

During the cooling season, GeoExchange can transfer heat from a building to reduce the temperature.
