Solar Resource Assessment

We offer a complete and integrated measurement solution for the prospecting and formal resource assessment of utility-scale photovoltaic projects. All important meteorological conditions are recorded, including solar irradiance (in all forms), wind speed and direction, ambient temperature, relative humidity, barometric pressure, and precipitation.

The PowerWise SRA solution provides the onsite data essential for a thorough understanding of a project site’s solar resources and variability. The modular system is designed with easy to install features which simplify and expedite installations.

These weather stations can transmit data via cell modem. PowerWise also offers the inView application to report on weather and irradiance data.

Solar Irradiance Sensors

Supported irradiance sensors include all classes and standards of Thermopile & Silicon Diode technologies. Monitoring points include:

• Global horizontal irradiance (GHI)
• Fixed plane of array (POA)
• Calculated direct normal irradiance (DNI)
• Albedo (Bifacial PV panels)

Remote Weather Stations

PowerWise offers packages to collect valuable irradiance and weather data in remote locations. Typically, the solution features the weather station and a NEMA enclosure mounted to a tripod or tower. Inside the enclosure is a gateway, cellular modem, and battery bank. A PV panel charges the battery and powers the cell modem and gateway.
