Conserve Energy with a New Electric Meter from PowerWise

Sensors,
Meters, and Apps

Conserving energy and improving efficiency are important reasons to consider in an energy management system. Measuring where and when energy is used provides insight into how to reduce energy costs and ensure efficient operations.

In support of these goals, PowerWise is happy to offer the Dent PowerScout electric meters. These devices are accurate, flexible, and are backed by a strong warranty.

The PowerScout offers revenue-grade accuracy (+/- 0.5%) depending on the current transducers being used. Most PowerWise customers, however, are content with having +/- 1% accuracy for their projects.

These meters integrate with the inView software application from PowerWise. inView offers considerable flexibility in terms of hardware integration, branding, and calculations from sensor values. Possible hardware integration includes a wireless relative humidity and temperature sensor, BTU meters, ultrasonic flow meters, and a high-end relative humidity and temperature probe. inView also supports many Modbus RTU and Bacnet devices.

The PowerScout meters support single phase and 3-phase electricity, as well as 60Hz and 50Hz. 60Hz is commonly used throughout North America. Many other countries around the world use 50 Hz.

These devices are available in three models, supporting 3, 12, or 48 CTs.

The PowerScout also offers an impressive 5 year warranty. Typical hardware warranties are for 1 or 2 years.

PowerScout meters are installed adjacent to the electrical panel. Conduit for the CT wires is typically run between the meter and the panel. PowerScout meters are wired to the PowerWise inGate, which uses the building’s network to send data to the cloud. Alternatively, the soon-to-be-released PowerWise inBridge can be wired to the PowerScout to send data wirelessly back to the inGate.

There are many reasons to consider PowerScout meters. Based on your budget and requirements, PowerWise will recommend the right combination of hardware and software to do the job most effectively.
