Energy Management

Sensors,
Meters, and Apps

Reduce electricity bills, improve operational efficiency, and conserve energy with informative reports from PowerWise.

Improve Energy Efficiency

Know the costs to operate heating, cooling, hot water, lighting, and other electrical-based systems. Energy management systems monitor electricity use by circuit to provide this insight.

Track equipment runtimes during daytime, evening hours, and weekends. See how weather, seasonality, and occupant behavior impact heating and cooling system costs.

For buildings subject to demand charges, know what mechanical systems are the major contributors and when.

Equipment Analytics

Energy management systems provides valuable insight into individual mechanical systems. See what equipment is using too much energy. Identify mechanical systems operating during odd hours. Track equipment runtimes. Compare performance and energy use to the manufacturer's specifications. When you monitor equipment, you can identify the need for maintenance, settings changes, or possible replacement.

Equipment Reports

Energy Management System Reports

The app shows real-time information and historical reports via smart phone or laptop. Identify trends and anomalies on daily, weekly, and monthly charts. Common charts and reports include:

  • After-hours energy use
  • Carbon footprint
  • Demand charges and heat maps
  • Energy use and costs by building, equipment categories, and individual circuits
  • Equipment runtimes
  • Outdoor temperatures charted with equipment operation
  • Power factor
  • Solar production
  • Voltage

Data can be downloaded to Excel or CSV for further analysis. The software also offers an API for pulling information into another database. Check out the residential and commercial apps.

Monitoring Hardware

PowerWise offers electricity meters, gateways, and apps to measure electricity use by circuit. The technology can monitor any number of buildings, electrical panels, and circuits. Current transformers (CTs) clamp around the mains from the utility or wires connected to each circuit breaker. The CTs wire to an electric meter. The meter communicates with the gateway. The gateway uses the building's network to send data to the cloud. Customers enjoy having secure access to live information and historical reports online.
